Da Guido - 1 channel trailer

Created during the preparatory phases of the exhibition Guido Guidi. Col tempo 1956-2024, Da Guido offers a visual interpretation of Guidi's creative and material universe, as narrated through his house-studio-archive in Ronta di Cesena.
Nestled between ancient canals, fields, and an intrusive motorway, this location appears to the filmmaker as a conceptual architecture where personal biography and artistic process intertwine. In the video, the interiors of the house-studio, Guidi's moments of solitary work, and his encounters with photographers, curators, printers, friends, and students are interwoven with the persimmon-lined avenues, the farmhouse walls in the shadow, the cultivated fields, the woodworking tools of his father, a carpenter, and the family's old agricultural machinery. Together, they create a space and time of ever-shifting relationships.
The uninterrupted flow of audio-visual intersections and the cyclical sense of time invite viewers to construct their own experience of what Guidi himself summarises with a quote from Michelangelo Antonioni: «not a thought that is complete, but a thought in the making,» shaped by observation and the passage of time.
